Book Review: Cradle To Cradle

written by Michael Braungart & William McDonough

ISBN: 978-0865475878

A what-if book that could change and possibly save the world.

Cradle to Cradle goes through and looks at the various manufacturing processes and points out how they can be made more eco-friendly and eco-effective. The authors write at length of not only producing better products, but producing products and can be used over and over again in various forms. They also bring up the interesting idea of producing products that doesn't create waste but creates usable by-products (a car that's by-products are fresh air and clean water).

I believe that this is the most important book you can read if you truly want to make a difference environmentally. The authors do an excellent job of not only pointing out he problems often ignored (even by the green community), they bring out possible solutions that not only would be good for the planet, they would be good for the economy as well. The book is printed on plastic instead of paper with the idea of upcycling once you are finished with it. It is a bit technical but there is so much to learn you should not pass it up.

It would make a great gift to those you know that are quite as green as you may be.
