Recycled Razor

After reading this post’s title most are thinking, “that doesn’t sound remotely appealing.” But the people over at Preserve make a recycled razor. Now the handle is made from 100% recycled number 5 plastic. The blades themselves are new. The handle is said to last a lifetime but like most of their products they will take it back and recycle it into something new.

As far as function: Well, it’s a razor. There really isn’t anything different in the way it works than other razors you can buy at the store. But remember, store-bought razors, especially disposable, are not recyclable. So this is a step in the right direction. My Whole Foods has a bin where you can drop off your number 5 plastics and Preserve picks them up to make their products. Sounds like a smart business model there.

A greener option would be switching to a straight razor but I am not quite ready for that big of a step just yet. In the meantime I recommend picking one up or ordering one.
