I’ve posted about bokashi composting twice here
and here.
It is a good way to prevent things from going to the landfill and make some
compost along the way. After the last post I filled up a five gallon bucket and
started the process all over again. Once the composter filled up the second
time I for got about it. It sat for months. And when it warmed up a bit a
couple of weeks ago I remembered and took it to a site where I could bury it so
it can begin its final process, transforming into compost. While I was burying
it I found that it had already begun to change in the bucket:
In the next few weeks I’m going to dig through it and turn
it once again with some soil and then it should be good to go. I’ll be updating
it then. But so far I can say it is a clean and easy way to compost in the city
if you have a place to bury it (or dump it in a community compost pile).
