Finally, Spring Is Here
Well, coming out of work today I felt the warm air for the
first time this year. As soon as I got home I shut the heat off and I hope I
can leave it off during the day from now on but we may have a few more cold
spells. I plan on taking a walk in this great weather and then I have to start
planning some outdoor repairs and activities. I can’t wait.
What are you going to be doing?

Even The Dog Is Going Green
In our continuing effort to cut back on packaging there was
an area that had us worried a bit, dog food. Dog food generally comes in great
big bags. Bags that get thrown out when you are done with them. You could reuse
the bad for something I’m sure but whatever you put in it will smell like dog
food. What’s more, the dog food is full of chemicals and is generally shipped
great distances. If you are madly in love with your dog, or cat, you want
better things for them.
How could you say no to that face? |
After a bit of searching we stumbled unto a store named Pet Wants in downtown Cincinnati. Not
only are they a local pet food supply that makes their food fresh every month,
parts of their store is made from reclaimed wood. And best of all you can bring
your own container and have it filled up.
A look in their store |
If you live in the area check it out. If not search around
and see what you can come up by your home.

Quick Tip #12: Using Excess Oven Heat
Here’s a quick tip for the winter or fall: when you are done
cooking something in the oven, shut it off, and then leave the door open to let
the heat into the house. It will help keep your house warm and save you a tiny
bit of money. In the summer do the opposite and leave the door shut as soon as
you get the food out.

Building Value is
a nonprofit store in Cincinnati, Ohio that deconstructs, salvages, and resells.
Started in 2004 the store offers deconstruction services where they pull out
useful materials and resell them at deep discounts. Recycling on the spot. So if
you are ever in the area and are looking for building supplies or just cool
stuff you can turn into other cool stuff stop in.
