Grow Your Own

I would like to have some room to grow a few crops but I really don’t. However, I do have a deck and my father gave me a few extra pots he had lying around he didn’t want anymore.

We thought about growing some plants from seeds but decided we needed more practice. So we went to Lowe’s and picked up a few Bonnie seedlings. We bought a patio tomato plant and four green pepper plants. It costs us about $20 to buy the pants and the organic potting soil. We chose these two plants because we eat them a lot so they won’t go to waste. As you can see, so far so good:

They aren’t ready to harvest yet but if they yield as much as they say they should we’ll have made our money back and then some. So, instead of building a planter box like we had planned to, we went with the free route to do a trial run. See if you have or can get your hands on a few pots and give it a go yourself.
