Okay, that’s a bit of a hyperbole. But I did pick up two
pairs of jeans, three pairs of shorts, and the Boss picked up a pair of jeans
all for $16 at Goodwill.
So how is this a years worth of clothing. Simple, we make
things last. I generally wear clothes until they fall apart and then fix them
until they can’t be fixed any more. I rotate through different clothes so I
have something presentable that I show the world. Another set I wear around the
house. And finally a set I wear when I’m working on things like the cars or the
house. It allows me to keep clothes much longer.
Right now I’ve run into a new problem that was a little
different. In the last two years I’ve lost about 65 lbs. So there are a few
things in my closet that don’t fit me too well anymore. I know, it is a
terrible problem to have. But there are a few things I kept from long before I
gained all my weight and I can wear them again.
So stop into your local Goodwill shop and other local thrift
stores to look for good deals on clothing. There is no need to buy anything new
except underwear and socks. See what you can find and remember that their stock
is always changing so keep stopping back.
