“Simplicity, simplicity, simplicity!”
-- Henry David Thoreau
Every now and again it is good to go through what you have
and see if you still really need all of it. This used to be done at “Spring
Cleaning” but there is no need to wait for a certain time of year to do this. We
are at a time were we have so much stuff it is starting to own us. If you have
a basement, or attic, or storage unit go through it and see if you really need
everything that is there. If you aren’t using it or don’t plan on using it in
the next six months get rid of it. Give it to someone, recycle it, or sell it.
You never know, you may find that you need much less space than you thought. Or
you may find something that someone else could really use.
Recently I went through the shelves at the bottom of my
basement steps. I have two large shelves and after some reorganizing,
recycling, and donating I have a free shelf for things like canning.
